Supporting mental and emotional healing through trauma reprocessing therapy

Release What’s Holding You Back

Mentally and Emotionally

You push your body to its limits, but sometimes the mind doesn’t keep up.

Past mistakes, injuries, high-pressure moments, or lingering effects from a traumatic event can create mental blocks that leave you frustrated, unfocused, or doubting yourself, even when you’re physically ready.

Trauma reprocessing helps you access those stuck spots in your mind, so you can process them, let go, and move forward. This isn’t about generic advice but about getting to the root of what’s holding you back, so your mind and body can work together again.

While I use a variety of methods to support athletes, I often use a brain-body somatic therapy called Brainspotting. Brainspotting is a powerful and effective method of identifying, processing, and releasing various types of sports related traumas or embarrassment, physical injury and even life situations. These traumas can overwhelm the nervous system which can result in blocks or the yipps. Brainspotting allows me to utilize a client’s field of vision to discover specific spots in the brain where trauma is being held. Once a ‘brainspot’ is identified, deep processing acts to release and resolve the unprocessed traumatic impression.

How I Help

Every athlete I meet experiences blocks differently. In sessions, we’ll:
Addressing mental health disorders affecting athletes

Identify the mental and emotional patterns keeping you from your best performance.

Removing mental blocks that impact performance and wellbeing

Process unresolved trauma or stress that interferes with focus or confidence.

Building confidence to manage performance anxiety and pressure

Rebuild mental clarity and resilience, so you feel in control under pressure.

Building confidence while addressing emotional challenges

Strengthen your performance mindset, connecting mental calm with physical execution.

Improving goal focus while managing competitive pressure

Create strategies that stick, supporting both sport and life beyond it.

Who This Is For

Teen and adult athletes in South Carolina who feel mentally stuck or weighed down. I recommend trauma reprocessing for athletes who are:

  • Replaying past mistakes, losses, or injuries over and over in your mind.
  • Struggling with focus, confidence, or motivation despite training hard.
  • Carrying stress or trauma that affects performance or daily life.
  • Fearful of returning to your sport after injury.
  • Feeling ready to feel clear, capable, and confident again—on and off the field.

Why It Works

I've been where you are, and I bring my own Division 1 athletic experience to every session, understanding the pressure, identity struggles, and mental roadblocks involved with competitive sports. Trauma reprocessing or brainspotting helps access what’s stuck beneath the surface, releasing it safely so you can regain focus, confidence, and control. Combined with practical mental health counseling, this treatment approach helps competitive athletes move past mental blocks, recover from emotional setbacks, and perform with confidence and resilience in sport and in life.
