The first word friends would use to describe me is competitive. Sports have shaped much of who I am, with basketball and soccer serving as my foundation, and a lifelong involvement in competitive environments influencing my growth both personally and professionally. I understand the internal drive to improve, the pressure to perform, and the identity that can form around being an athlete. Through my graduate training in Sport & Performance Psychology and applied work with collegiate programs, I have supported athletes across sports, including baseball, basketball, football, golf, rowing, and softball. I have also served as a leader within the sport community, coaching youth soccer and educating athletes, trainers, coaches and officials on mental health awareness, recognizing signs and symptoms of distress, and teaching practical tools to respond effectively for themselves or others in crisis. I am passionate about helping athletes and high performers build mental skills, deepen self-awareness, and develop a sustainable relationship with competition and achievement.

Life Beyond

Counseling

While achievement and growth are important to me, I believe sustainable performance requires a full and balanced life. One of my favorite ways to care for my own mental health is taking my five-year-old Goldendoodle Remy on long walks. She is a certified therapy dog and, when appropriate, can even join sessions to offer added comfort and grounding!

Outside of counseling, I love baking and cooking for friends and family, reading and participating in book clubs, staying active, and keeping up with all things Clemson athletics as a proud third-generation Tiger. Community, movement, learning, and connection fuel me, and I bring that same grounded energy into the therapy space.

My

Approach

My approach to counseling is holistic and individualized. I integrate modalities and techniques from multiple philosophies based on each client’s unique needs, combining evidence-based strategies with meaningful relational work. I lean heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, blending practical skill-building with deeper exploration of childhood learning, developmental relationships, and core schemas that influence present behavior patterns.

For many athletes and high performers, early messages from coaches, parents, or competitive environments shape how they relate to success, failure, authority, and even themselves. A coach’s emphasis on toughness, a parent’s high expectations, or early reinforcement tied only to winning can quietly form beliefs such as “I am only valuable when I perform” or “Mistakes mean I’ve failed.” Together, we identify these patterns and evaluate whether they are still serving you.

My style is warm, collaborative, and supportively challenging. I help clients uncover the missing or out-of-place puzzle pieces in their mindset, build mental skills, and develop healthier, more sustainable ways of thinking and performing, both in sport and in life beyond it.
